The apples selected for this gift sampler box
are varieties being grown in the orchard of Historic Gray Wolf Plantation,
Adams County, Pennsylvania. These old fashioned apples have been carefully
chosen for your eating pleasure. Each one dates back to the Civil War Era
or earlier, and represents some of the most popular apples grown in the
upper Shenandoah River Valley during that period. They were special
favorites of your grandparents!
Today, few Americans are able to experience the taste treats our ancestors
knew and enjoyed each Fall. In the 1860's over 250 varieties of apples
were grown. Today there are less than 50 in the U.S.
We would like to share these apples with you, your family and friends
during this Fall season. This is the perfect choice for the special person
